How many times can you say nothing has happened yet? Well let’s have a stab at joining the masses…
Today’s internet speculation is that Valtteri (“2ts, 2ps”) Filppula will re-sign with the Wings before he, Ken-oyte, and Bill Zito, head to Toronto on Friday. Wow that IS a new one.
Most people believe that Filppula will avoid arbitration. As he said in radio interview last week, Wile E. Ken-otye has had continuing discussions with Filppula’s agent and remained confident a deal could get done before the hearing.
The latest rumor coming from the Hockey News- that Holland is “attempting” to re-sign Filppula to a “longer-term deal” with an agreed-upon 2-year deal as his fall-back plan, is a bit curious. After all that is what Filps wants, a longer term deal. So if Kenny is “attempting” to offer him 3-4 years, then Filps should be jumping.
Hang in there Filps fans. As you know just this weekend Vals launched his own website, and right on the welcome page he is wearing the Winged Wheel. Pretty sure he’s not going anywhere.
